Temple Square
Thanksgiving Weekend we were able to go the Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. It has been quite a few years since we have been and I was sure that the kids didn't even remember the last time that we went. So we went down saturday after thanksgiving and braved the cold and fought the crowds, but had a wonderful time. The kids were so good and enjoyed it so much, and the only complaining that we heard was that they were too hot (I do tend to overdress them sometimes), but we had a wonderful time and it was a wonderful start to the Christmas season!

Brooklyn's dance recital
Last weekend we were able to go to Brooklyn's christmas dance recital and it was quite a night. It was so much fun for her to have a night that was all for her. Isabel is doing gymnastics this year, so she wasn't in the recital and Brooklyn loved having a night all for her. She just loves getting all dressed up and she did so great. It was so fun to watch her and she just ate up all of the attention. It was a really fun night and we were so proud of her!

More Crafts!
The past few days we have been doing Christmas crafts with my sister and sister in law. It has been a lot of fun and pretty productive. It can be a little crazy trying to get projects done with all of the kids, but we have gotten quite a bit done. These are a few of the things we have done. Also this is the top and bottom of Hunter's quilt that I have been working on. I now just need to get some batting and quilt it, bind it, and put it all together, but I am taking a break from that to get some christmas projects done. But I am so happy with how the top and bottom turned out and can't wait to finish it!

Crafting it Up!
Lately I have had the crafting bug. I have just been staying busy doing project after project and have gotten quite a few things done lately. Having a project to do just keeps my sanity sometimes, although sometimes trying to do projects with a 6 yr old, a 3 yr old, and an 18 month old can make me pretty crazy. I just find these cute ideas and then once I get the ideas in my head I just have to do them.

This is the progress I have made on Hunter's quilt. I am just loving the way that it is working out and now I have to arrange these blocks into rows and put the quilt top togher. I am really enjoying doing this and it is the first "real" quilt that I have made by myself, so I am really learning a lot from this.

I am always looking for cute things for my girls hair and I have seen these flowers around and decided I could make them too, so I spend the afternoon making them and just love the way they look on my cute girls.

The biggest project that we have been doing has been painting the girls room. They have been in their own rooms and now we are putting them together in the same room, so we painted and got the room just the way they wanted it and they just love it. I wasn't sure I wanted to paint it pink, but I love the way it turned out and the stripes just make it so much fun. It has been quite a work in progress, but is so nice now that it is done, and now we are going to paint Hunter room, so the process just starts all over again.

Blair wasn't so happy about Hunter having to be the model for this towel, but I am going to a baby shower tomorrow and decided that I wanted to make a hooded towel. I thought that it shouldn't be too hard, and after a little trial and error I think that it turned out pretty cute. Now my girls both want one, so this is probably only the beginning of the towels for us.

And lastly this afternoon my cute sister in law Katie showed us how to make these cute flowers. They turned out to be pretty easy once you got the hang of it and now I need to put them on headbands and hairclips and they will look amazing.
So that is what we have been up to lately. We also have squeezed in a veterans day assembly, dancing class, Thanksgiving Dinner with Isabel at school, gymnastics, and a great movie night tonight. So it has been a very wonderful and productive week for us. Now onto enjoying the weekend!

Ooey Gooey Fun!
One of my favorite things about Halloween is the pumpkin carving. I don't know what it is, but I do think that it is fun. My hands and wrists were really tired that night after carving everyone's pumpkins, but we had a great time and the kids were really into it this year. Isabel made a ghost on hers and was able to do a lot of it herself. Brooklyn wanted a mean puppy, which took a lot of creativity, but she was very happy with it and loved it when it was done. Hunter didn't care much about what his pumpkin would be. He was very interested about what we were doing all night and wasn't shy at all about sticking his hands right into his pumpkin and helping me clean it out. He is at such a fun stage where he doesn't really care what we do as long as he can be big like the rest of the kids and do what everyone else is doing. So the night was definitly a success for all of us. The only sad thing was that I forgot to take a picture of the finished pumpkins, but that is okay because Blair got some pretty cute ones of the process!
